2 Days 1 Night Orangutan Jungle Trekking Sumatra (Bukit Lawang)

Experience a true rainforest adventure with our 2 Days 1 Night Orangutan Jungle Trekking in Sumatra. This overnight trek is perfect for nature lovers who want to explore deeper into the jungle and experience life in the rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park.

🗓️ Day 1 – Jungle Trek & Camping Experience

After breakfast at 09:00 AM, our certified English-speaking guides from  Orangutan Sumatra Rainforest will meet you at your hotel in Bukit Lawang. From there, we begin our jungle trek, hiking for approximately 6–7 hours through dense tropical rainforest.

During the trek, if we are lucky, we may encounter orangutans, Thomas leaf monkeys, gibbons, and long-tailed macaques in their natural habitat. Along the way, we stop for lunch and fresh tropical fruits.

In the afternoon, we continue with a short walk to our riverside jungle campsite. Here, you can relax, swim or bathe in the river, and enjoy the peaceful natural surroundings. Our team will provide complimentary tea, coffee, and snacks.

As evening arrives, our crew will prepare a delicious jungle dinner, typically including rice, vegetables, chicken, tempeh, chili sauce, and other local dishes. After dinner, you may enjoy a fun and interactive group activity before settling down for a well-deserved rest in the jungle.

🗓️ Day 2 – Wildlife Trek & Return to Bukit Lawang

After breakfast at the campsite, we continue trekking deeper into the rainforest. During the walk, our guide will explain medicinal plants and traditional jungle knowledge used by local communities.

Wildlife sightings may include the endangered Sumatran orangutan, white-handed gibbons, monkeys, snakes, monitor lizards, and other exotic rainforest species. The trek lasts approximately 4–5 hours.

At midday, our team prepares lunch with fresh local fruits in the jungle. After lunch, we trek back toward Bukit Lawang.

To return, you may choose one of two options:

• Walk back through the jungle

• Enjoy a fun tube rafting experience down the river (optional / additional cost)
